Böker Vigtig vs. Wild 121509 CPM MagnaCut, Green Canvas Micarta, Survivalmesser

As a German expat, I have long found it embarrassing to realize, how German knives could go from most respected to, well, nonexistent. Solingen once stood for the highest quality knives on planet Earth - and now? The only thing left is Böker Manufaktur - buy any other Böker and you get “overseas”, meaning low labor cost, as in China or similar. And if that isn’t bad enough, even the Manufaktur line missed the boat, when bushcraft knives became the biggest thing in cutlery. Well, things are looking up! After the excellent Bronco line (the success of which Böker comprised by sending out false information to DBK and Gideon’s Tactical), they are apparently about to get on board, after all. After the two Broncos, this is the third excellent bushcraft knife in recent times. And what’s more, there is no overlap. Smallish but very sturdy, gimmicky but not in a useless way, faultlessly crafted from top notch materials, this is a winner. Great balance, excellent handling, superb steel, flawless execution. Highly recommended both as an addition to a collection, and as an only bushcraft knife.
