Having both used and collected so called bushcraft knives for over 30 years, I am confident to say that Casström’s Lars Fält Knife, No. 10 and Woodsman are three of the finest bushcraft knives available, regardless of price. And yet. When forced to choose between sturdiness and flexibility, I find myself choosing flexibility each time. So when Casström released the Järv series, I was very interested indeed. To me, the big deal is not the use of a reasonably priced carbon steel - though I do applaud them for going in this direction, rather than “deluxe” versions in expensive super steel - but the fact that the blades are 3,2 mm (standard thickness for Finnish puukkos) rather than the original 4 mm. Doesn’t sound like much, but given the flexibility of the steel, this makes for a supreme experience in use. I got all three and it remains to be seen, whether the original versions stay in use. I doubt it. The Järv models are three of the most perfect knives I can think of.
