Mein erster Schleifstein der so fein ist. Habe den Stein bei meinem Rasiermesser von Böker namens King Cutter ausprobiert, da ich das Messer schon etwas länger in gebrauch habe. Einfach überragend! Das Messer war danach Super super scharf!!!! Kann den Stein nur weiter empfehlen, vor allem für Anfänger wie ich einer bin!

Another "King of Scratches" ! After restoring the blade of my BarkRiver CPM 3V steel blade from the previous Shapton 6000 Glass Stone, which also caused a lot of scratches on the blades profile, I went to the Shapton 12000 grid stone above. I've expected a better, even finer polish of my mirror polished knife blade. But the complete opposite was the case; the Shapton Pro 12.000 grid stone caused again a lot of new scratches on both blades surfaces. This stone also has a lot of "Bite", almost no polishing character. But compared to the Shapton Glass Stone 6000, the scratches exposed in a more milky/hazy appearance; and 3 or 4 major scratches, also caused by the 12.000 supposed to be "polishing" stone. So I went back to my personal stropping method with a tad of oil, water and my bare thumb - and the awesome and very good Skerper Black Black Compound (~ 10.000 grid; and 2000 grid lower than the Shapton Pro), to restore the fine finish of the 3V blade as I've done before. Guess what ? I't worked again; only with Skerper Compound, bare thumb and a few medical compresses for the final touch. Resume: To me this 12.000 Grid Stone is - damned bitter - a pure vaste of money, absolutely not recommended. Better you learn a propper techique of sharpening and patience during the sharpening process. And another important training I've made after these intense practices with higher grid stones: " The high grid waterstones above 4000 are highly overrated and insanely overpriced in many cases, particular the famous brands. And a good leather strop setting with efficient compounds, and how to deal with them, is often underrated and overlooked. Especially if you are looking forward to achieve a final finish, which should come close to an almost perfect mirror polish.
